Letter From The Editor: Reflection

It’s March already! WOW. I don’t know about the rest of you, but it seems like the older you get, the faster time flies.

My birthday is the 27th of March. This year my birthday falls on Easter! HELLO to all my fellow Aries out there! lol

I think birthdays are always personal reflection periods. I am approaching 27 years of age, and I am filled with so much peace and joy, it’s almost hard for me to believe. I am happy with myself, and I content with the company I keep. I am proud of the young woman I have become and am STILL becoming. I know I have some personal goals that I have made for myself, and I am really looking forward to sharing all my future projects with you all.

I think I can officially say I am in my late 20’s… and as much as I thought I would cringe at the idea of being 3yrs away from “The Dirty 30” … I am actually at peace lol. Surprisingly.

As I get older I am entering another phase of my life, and I welcome this stage with much enthusiasm and optimism. I know there are some people in this world that were not able to see 27, so I am sincerely blessed.

My wish for all of you, is to take a chance to reflect on how far you have come as a person, and where you were a year ago. Reflection is good, and furthermore it is essential for our growth as individuals. Take inventory on your life and analyze your atmosphere. Are you happy ? What improvements or changes can you make moving forward? Remember… every day is a new opportunity for change and to create something better for your life. May happiness & success find all of you. Hello March !

May mercy, peace, and love be yours in abundance

What 2015 taught me …

This year has honestly been one of the best years of my life. Mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually I have conquered a lot this year. I did things I never thought I would do, and I’m honestly damn proud of myself for how far I have come as a person. When I was a little girl I use to have this idea and image of what I wanted to look like, and who I wanted to be. I can finally say now that I like who I am becoming, and when I look in the mirror I smile, because I look exactly how I’ve always wanted to look.

When I talk about looks I’m not talking about physically. I’m talking about my vibe, my actual “look.” I grew up with a mother who always appreciated self-expression and individuality. I had a father who instilled strong work ethic, and to never conform to what others want you to be. I like to think I am becoming the perfect mix of the both of them. (more…)

What My 20’s has Taught Me Thus Far

I thought it be nice to do a course evaluation on my life from a quarter of a century standpoint. I’m still in my twenties, and the lessons are endless so I’m positive I will be sharing more lessons with you all as time goes on. I was at dinner last night with a few friends and we were all talking about life. Life is always a wonderful concept to discuss, I mean whats not to discuss? The conversation from last night inspired this post. I wanted to share some knowledge that age has thrust upon me. I’m curious to see if you guys agree. (more…)

17 Questions To Ask Yourself Before You Move to a Big City

So, I’ve moved one big huge time in my life. I am originally from Torrance, California. When I was 16, my family moved to Virginia. My second move in life was to North Carolina to start college. Initially when I was younger, I hated change. As I get older… I embrace it. I started my own business, that is doing pretty well, and after I finish up grad school I am on my way to another big move… The move to build my brand! This move is exciting, and starting up in a new city can be tough, especially if you aren’t prepared to handle some of the gradations moving to a new area will cause. Here’s a list of questions I’d recommend anyone who’s thinking about braving a new city to consider before making their next move.

1. Can I afford it?

I know this sounds obvious, but you can’t budget enough when you’re thinking about jumping ship to a new city. Last minute expenses will always come up and although we all hope for that silver lining to appear right when we need it, the less you can count on that lucky break by covering your grounds monetarily, the smoother that transition will be. Tip: whatever you’ve budgeted for your move, double it. If you can afford it still, you’re in good shape. (more…)

11 Things You Should Be Thankful For

No. We don’t always get what we want. But consider this: There are people who will never have what you have right now.

It’s the beginning of the year and sometimes it’s easier to dwell on the past, and fall into a pessimist attitude. We have so many things to be thankful for. When you run into some bumps in the road this year, keep some of these things in mind. (more…)

First things First …

Am I being too crazy if I were to say that it’s kind of symbolic in a weird way that I started my blog on Christmas? I am in no way shape or form being biblical about it. I just think its something really cool about my creative juices flowing on Christmas Day. Christmas just symbolizes such purity and freshness to me. I don’t know, I’ve always been peculiar about dates and numbers, so to me Christmas morning is the perfect day to start a blog. I’m wide-awake, and as the year is coming to an end, my mind is running wild. Sometimes I think so much my head starts to hurt. It’s crazy.

It probably would have been really cool to post a picture or something, being that this is my first post. HOWEVER, I hardly know how yo use this thing. I literally woke up an hour ago and decided I wanted to blog. So bare with me… I’m learning as I go. lol

Anyways, this blog is for basically everything. Business ventures, hair, fashion, food, relationship issues, friends… honestly I’m just here to talk about LIFE. I have some main objectives, but I can’t promise that I will stick to a script. I just want to share my life with a few people that might be interested and get some interaction along the way. Sounds harmless.
