Midi Rings, Stacked bracelets, Gold chains … Oh My

One of my favorite trends happening right now is the emphasis to detail.

I always have been “extra” as some would say. In my opinion jewelry/accessories are the most important component to any and every outfit. My favorite jewelry pieces to purchase are; rings, necklaces and bracelets.

If you have looked around in fashion magazines, Instagram or other outlets for fashion, wearing multiple pieces at one time is in right now. Its called “stacking.”

The definition of inventory is :

  • to take stock of; evaluate.
  • to inventory one’s life and accomplishments.
  • to summarize.

  • to keep an available supply of (merchandise); stock.
  • to have value as shown by an inventory:

Have you looked at your life and taken stock?

What My 20’s has Taught Me Thus Far

I thought it be nice to do a course evaluation on my life from a quarter of a century standpoint. I’m still in my twenties, and the lessons are endless so I’m positive I will be sharing more lessons with you all as time goes on. I was at dinner last night with a few friends and we were all talking about life. Life is always a wonderful concept to discuss, I mean whats not to discuss? The conversation from last night inspired this post. I wanted to share some knowledge that age has thrust upon me. I’m curious to see if you guys agree. (more…)

So … About My Natural Hair Journey …

Ok. So. I . Decided . To. Go. Natural.

****First and foremost, I want to thank all the beautiful women that surround me daily. You guys have been such an inspiration, and it has been with helping hands and the influence of all of you naturally amazing ladies that I even thought about giving this a go. You guys are a daily muse, each and every one of you. xoxo

Now, I didn’t do the BIG CHOP… I couldn’t do it. Praises to all of you that had the balls to do it, you all will forever be my heroes.

However, I did decide to go natural through transitioning. Transitioning to natural hair  is a simple process of growing out your natural texture before cutting off the processed hair or damaged ends. Transitioning can sometimes be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be completely complicated. (more…)

Letter From The Editor: Passion + Motivation … one in the same

Each week, I hear from people who say things like, “I start with good intentions, but I can’t seem to maintain my consistency for a long period of time.”

Or, they will say, “I struggle with keeping on track. I get started but I can’t seem to follow through and stay focused for very long.”

Sound familiar? Yea, me too. Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. (more…)

17 Questions To Ask Yourself Before You Move to a Big City

So, I’ve moved one big huge time in my life. I am originally from Torrance, California. When I was 16, my family moved to Virginia. My second move in life was to North Carolina to start college. Initially when I was younger, I hated change. As I get older… I embrace it. I started my own business, that is doing pretty well, and after I finish up grad school I am on my way to another big move… The move to build my brand! This move is exciting, and starting up in a new city can be tough, especially if you aren’t prepared to handle some of the gradations moving to a new area will cause. Here’s a list of questions I’d recommend anyone who’s thinking about braving a new city to consider before making their next move.

1. Can I afford it?

I know this sounds obvious, but you can’t budget enough when you’re thinking about jumping ship to a new city. Last minute expenses will always come up and although we all hope for that silver lining to appear right when we need it, the less you can count on that lucky break by covering your grounds monetarily, the smoother that transition will be. Tip: whatever you’ve budgeted for your move, double it. If you can afford it still, you’re in good shape. (more…)
